GREETING / USHERING

Are you interested in assisting visitors and parishioners that require help at Mass?

Being an usher is an opportunity to be an ambassador for Jesus at your parish.  This Volunteer position may include Ushers at Mass, Greeters, Gift Bearers, Welcoming New Parishioners, and taking an active part in Community Building events.

At OLPH, ushers welcome parishioners to Mass and assist with seating at the weekend Masses. They also assist with the collection and direct mass-goers to the appropriate communion lines. Ushers are also available to aid those who may need extra help.

Gathering as people of God for Mass and other events is a visible sign of the Body of Christ.   Volunteers in this ministry have a special mission to make others feel welcome, both at Mass, and through other community events.

Along with those who are involved in hospitality, the ushers are often the first ones that people see when they arrive at Church and the last ones they see when they leave.
