INTRODUCING OUR NEW PASTOR
Rev. Fr. Rajesh Madtha, OCD

Rev. Fr. Rajesh Madtha, born on  August 23, 1982 into a pious and very devoted Catholic family in Mangalore, India. He is the second child among four siblings. After completing his primary studies, he joined the Order of the Discalced Carmelites of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel or the Order of Discalced Carmelites at the age of 17. During his formative years in India, he pursued his studies and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Master's  Degree in Sacred Theology in Mangalore.  Rev. Rajesh was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest on May 26, 2011. After his priestly ordination he served two years in the Carmelite Seminary as formator and teacher of spirituality and one year  worked as an associate in a parish in Mangalore Diocese in India. During this period, he also obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Bangalore, India. My elder brother is also a priest serving in the diocese of Mangalore. We are two priests in our family for which we are grateful to God.

Rev. Rajesh was sent to Canada in 2014 by his Religious Provincial to render his valuable religious ministry in the Archdiocese of Vancouver. He brought with him combined pastoral and religious teaching experiences which helped him to attend to the pastoral needs of Catholics in Canada. During his stay in Canada Rev. Madtha engaged himself in various pastoral activities such as chaplain to St Paul Hospital Vancouver, assisting parishes at various capacities through pastoral ministry and serving in Carmel Hill Monastery, Deroche preaching retreats, conducting seminars on prayer, spirituality and guiding people in their quest for God.

He is now appointed Pastor at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish,  Kamloops.   We warmly welcome Rev. Fr. Rajesh Madtha, OCD to this Diocese and to our Parish. We are very happy to have you dear Fr. Rajesh.

MASSES
Saturday 5:00 pm, Sunday 8:30 am, and 10:30 am

Welcome to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish!

Bishop Joseph has removed the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days, except for those who are ill, or are at particular risk of infection. We continue to be diligent and careful in the wake of lifted restrictions. While mask wearing is not required, it is a personal choice. Please remember to respect the space and personal decisions of  people around you.

We invite you to reconnect with each other outside of the church, rather than inside, in order to remain mindful.

Parish Prayer

Heavenly Father, You have gathered us together as a parish to be your visible life in our world.  Here we unite in worship, proclaim your word, celebrate the Eucharist, and are sent forth to share your love and make disciples.  Lord, we take your Great Commission seriously and long for our parish to be so on-fire that we draw people to you.  Help us in that endeavor, as we strive to work together – ordained, religious and laity.  Please make our parish amazing, through Your Power and Your Grace.  In Christ our Lord.  Amen
